INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY

I provide psychotherapy to adult individuals. My specialties include treating anxiety, mood disorders, characterological issues, and trauma, as well as the exploration of self-esteem, identity, and relationship issues. I also have a particular interest in helping young professionals, first-time parents, and new immigrants navigate challenging life situations.

I primarily follow a psychodynamic approach which pays attention to the client's inner world and the ever-changing therapeutic relationship. I work closely with each client to examine underlying dynamics and assist them in resolving conflicts so as to develop satisfaction from life, work, and relationships. My work style is flexible and can be integrative when necessary. I may apply treatment principles that target acute symptoms with skills-based interventions when working with clients who are in urgent needs of symptom reduction.

My services are tailored to achieve a thorough understanding of each client, and to meet each client's unique needs in their individual journey towards emotional growth and other goals.

PSYCHOANALYSIS

Psychoanalysis is an incredibly useful tool for exploring our unconscious conflicts and motives as well as providing polyvalent ways of understanding them. And when such contents from our unconscious are worked through in clinical processes, lasting changes at a very deep level of our character structures can often happen. Psychoanalysis is both intensive and long-term. It may be the right path for you if you are seeking a transformative experience through talk therapy.

As a Candidate in training with the Boston Psychoanalytic Society & Institute (BPSI), I can provide psychoanalysis in a classical setting (meeting 4x/week, use of the couch, etc.) under the supervision of BPSI-approved supervising analysts.
